Encapsulated retinol works similarly to regular retinol; however, it delivers its powers into skin a little differently and more effectively. 

Whilst we LOVE the effects that retinol has for the skin with its purpose of increasing cellular turnover, fading spots, improving skin texture, pore size, fine lines and wrinkles- we are even more in LOVE with the built-in delivery system encapsulated retinol has to offer in our 0.25% Encapsulated Retinol Serum. By formulating products with encapsulated retinol, we improve its stability and ability to penetrate the skin effectively, in a timed-release approach.  

Retinoids work on the deeper layers of the skin called the dermis, unlike AHA/BHA’s which play their role predominately on the surface called the epidermis, so having a carrier system to deliver the retinol effectively to the lower levels of the skin means it can target the right area and achieve the results we are looking for.  

Because encapsulated retinol is HIGHLY effective and powerful, its recommended to slowly introduce to the skin over a few weeks/months, always beginning every 2-3 days and increasing to daily as tolerated.  

Retinol is always used a night-time as it assists the skin during its midnight regeneration time, which involves the making of new collagen cells. SPF is mandatory when using a retinol to protect the skin cells from UV damage.
