Aloe Vera is a resilient plant that grows in hot, arid climates and despite the environment that it grows in the leaves are surprisingly rich in hydration and nutrients including vitamins A, C, E and B12. It has been used widely for centuries across many different cultures for its myriad of benefits.

Studies have shown that aloe is able to penetrate the skin four times faster than water and can penetrate through all seven layers of the skin.

Aloe has proven soothing and calming properties for the skin, helping to reduce redness and inflammation of the skin. it also assists in normalising oil production making it great for problematic skin. Along with its hydrating properties help plump the skin and can improve the appearance of fine lines.

Aloe vera juice extract is made up of mucopolysaccharides (a type of sugar molecule) which bind moisture to the skin allowing the product to be effectively absorbed which makes it a great addition to our 0.25% Encapsulated Retinol Serum. The hydrating qualities also help minimise the risk of skin drying out.

When introducing Retinol into someone’s skincare it is advised to introduce it slowly to minimise the risk of irritation. Aloe vera juice extracts soothing properties help minimise the risk of unwanted side effects.

As if we haven’t provided enough benefits, aloe’s natural antioxidant properties help to fight free radicals which damage collagen and elastin within the skin worsening signs of aging. The antioxidants also help to improve skin tone.
